It’s a sweet little getaway, here in Orange County. Well, it’s not little. The property is huge, but it has an intimate community feel to it. It’s where I see my future self getting married… Look at the photos; you will want to get married here, too. And if you’re already hitched, you’ll want to rehitch yourself here.
It’s owned and run by the Lawrence family in Lawrence Canyon, near Cook’s Corner. The place was envisioned and built by Rick Lawrence, and is now run by his son Brett, and his mom, Jeannie. It’s a hidden, botanical paradise with a non-profit zoo. The animals on the premises include two zebras and a white tiger named Lily. Yes. Tiger Lily. So cute. And could rip me to shreds. But sooo cute. Some sweet little lovebirds cuddle in their cages and a very social parrot says, “hello,” as you walk by.
My boyfriend, Michael, and I enjoyed a tasting in the barn on a warm Friday night. The Town Park Brew Co. beers are brewed locally in Anaheim. Not, a beer drinker myself, I was pleasantly surprised when I enjoyed the blonde, redhead, and brunette. Yes. They are named after girls–girls we all know. The girl next door, the best friend, the girl you marry… It’s a personal touch that makes Towne Park Brew Co. stand apart–each beer has a story and a character to it. It’s really a different kind of experience. What’s better, guests can bring your own food to a tasting. What’s better than a picnic, some beer (and wine for me) before a stroll through the zoo and gardens?
This place is unreal and reminiscent of Casablanca, just like Mr. Lawrence intended. Rancho Las Lomas truly is a magical place, down to the details, you will be enthralled by the care taken to preserve and improve this wonderful place.
